My previous blog post title reminds me of something I read during the campaign.
If I voted for Hillary, I'd wind up with a president under investigation.
That was pretty accurate, wasn't it?

Voting for Hillary
The 2016 election. My, what a mess.
To get things out of the way, I support Hillary Clinton. I didn't always like her (the cookie-baking remark rubbed me the wrong way at the time), but I do now. I know I've said things that have rubbed people the wrong way, so it's rather uncharitable of me to hold that particular grudge.
I don't expect any blog posts to change the mind of anyone who is dead-set against a specific candidate. I know my mind isn't going to change. At this point, Mrs. Clinton could be the one to shoot someone in Times Square and my vote wouldn't change.
Am I voting for Mrs. Clinton because she's a woman and so am I? No.
Am I voting for Mrs. Clinton because I'm a die-hard Democrat? No.
Am I voting for Mrs. Clinton because I think she's perfect? No.
I will be voting for Mrs. Clinton because she has the experience necessary for the job she's set out to do. She is also unflappable. She is not going to be flustered by any international incident, short of an incident that would make General Patton flap.
On reason I'm resuscitating this poor old blog is for collecting information concerning Mrs. Clinton. I don't want to bug my Facebook friends with daily updates -- they probably see enough of those in their own "news" feeds -- yet I want an outlet for sharing the information.
I have other blogs, but I don't want to use them for continual political purposes. Repatria's purpose was as an outlet for the shift from living in Europe to being back in the U.S. That was seventeen years ago. I still haven't completely adjusted, especially to the Republican slide to the right that happened while I lived in Europe. I voted Republican (usually defense issues) then but since returning to the U.S. I find that the party left me behind. I'm still not what many people would consider a Democrat, but the political group that now calls itself "Republican" isn't one I can support.
In the Gore/Bush campaign, I couldn't quite bring myself to vote for a Democrat so I voted third-party. We all know how that turned out. I'm not going to make that mistake again, and I don't think I have any reason to. So, yes, "I'm with her."

The Clinton Foundation
Opponents of Mrs. Clinton (and probably of her husband, and possibly of her daughter, and even 'angry-face' people on Facebook concerning the grandchildren) want the Clinton Foundation to be a pay-for-play scam. News reporters float the idea that the Foundation should be shuttered. The suggestion arose as recently as the day before yesterday.
A Google search for a similar suggestion concerning the Republican nominee brought up discussions from 2015 and from March, June, and July of 2016.
**Yes, I know about the interminable investigations. I've been hearing about them since the Clintons appeared on the national radar screen. For all that energy to have been invested -- with scant results -- someone somewhere doesn't like them very much.
Meet the Press - September 4, 2016SEN. BERNIE SANDERS: Well, I would certainly suggest that, as president of the United States, she should cease all operations, all contact with the Clinton Foundation.CHUCK TODD: Does that mean shutting it down, or just not being involved? Can you--SEN. BERNIE SANDERS: At the very least, she should not be involved, at the very least.CHUCK TODD: And would you feel more comfortable if it just didn't exist during her time as president?

I'm perplexed** as to why so much interest is focused on the Clinton Foundation, an entity that has earned a top rating from watchdog groups, yet so few results come from querying the status of the Republican nominee and his foreign investments. Is it because of the ratings for the Clinton Foundation that the watchdog groups themselves have come under fire?
Armchair amateurs like me are at a disadvantage when it comes to assessing truth-in-reporting and comparing the he said/she saids sprinkled around the Internet like confetti on New Year's Eve. Our resource is Google. All we can go on is how actions speak louder than words.
If you find the actions of Mrs. Clinton to be suspect -- sticking with a wandering husband; working for decades on behalf of women and children; donating to her own Foundation -- then you won't want to vote for her.
If you find the actions of the Republican nominee to be superior to those of Mrs. Clinton -- not sticking to one wife; working on behalf of himself; finally donating to veterans groups after he was asked where the money went -- then you pays your money and takes your chance.

Blogger redirect
So many blogs, so little time.
For those who follow links from the breadcrumbs left by automatic sign-ins, and who are looking for current blog entries, mine are at:
I think that's it. No, there's another one, but I haven't used it in ages, poor neglected thing.

Answers to crossword
At one of my other blogs, I posted a crossword for writers who want to write an article about homeschooling. I couldn't include the answers on that blog for the obvious reason that anyone reading the blog would see the answers practically on the same screen. Because of that little glitch, I'm putting the answers here.
To see the crossword, go to Happy As Kings.

Decisions
Right now I'm trying to decide where to put another 'work.' It doesn't look as if this particular blog format has what I want -- categories. It has "labels," but those look more like search terms for spiders and such; not what I'm looking for. I could also make do without the 'pages,' in WordPress, but not without categories.
At least I've figured out another way not to produce the other 'work.'
